May 17, 2021 Ryanair posted a loss of € 815 million for the year ended March 31, compared to a profit of € 1 billion the previous year. Traffic dropped 81% to 27.5 million, compared to 149 million the previous year. Revenues stood at 1.64 billion (-81%). The Covid-19 restrictions weigh on the results.

The company notes that bookings have increased significantly since April 1, with a strong recovery in the second half of the year, but visibility for the year remains "close to zero", making it impossible to provide guidance.

Ryanair reiterated that traffic will remain in a range of 80 million to 120 million passengers for the next financial year ending March 2022.

"We are cautious in our prospects," CFO Neil Sorahan said in an interview. "It's about getting their trust back among the people."
