In May 2018, SBS announced'Radon Bed' to the world for the first time.

Radon, a radioactive substance and a first-class carcinogen, was detected in a famous bed mattress.

A large-scale mattress collection was carried out using the government's official apology and the post office.

However, there have been virtually no investigations at the level of government and local governments or any movement to verify the harmfulness of users who have been damaged by the use of radon beds in the past three years.

Last year, a study found that the prevalence of lung cancer among radon bed users (the ratio of the number of patients to the population at a specific time) was 5.9 times higher for men and 3.5 times higher for women than the general population. However, since the causal relationship between the use of radon beds and the onset of cancer was not clearly proven, there were voices that it was urgent to prove the harmfulness through animal testing.

However, Gyeonggi-do recently decided to test for the harmfulness of'radon beds' for the first time among the government and local governments.

Through an interview with Gyeonggi Gyeonggi Governor Lee Jae-myeong, who instructed the budget to be formulated, I heard the reason why Gyeonggi Province started the verification.
