Hamburg (dpa / lno) - Due to maintenance of the Schnelsentunnel, there may be night traffic obstructions on the A7 in the north of Hamburg from Sunday evening. In the night of Monday, the noise protection tunnel should first be washed. The interior walls of the 550-meter-long structure are cleaned so that the tunnel remains bright, said a spokesman for Autobahn GmbH Nord. Short-term traffic stops are possible both in the direction of Flensburg / Kiel and Hanover. The operator consortium Via Solutions Nord announced that the Hamburg-Schnelsen driveway to the south will also be closed.

Maintenance work on the tunnel and on the noise barriers in front of the portals will follow for the next four nights until Friday morning.

Only one lane will be available to traffic in each direction of travel.

The Schnelsen junction is also affected by closures in both directions.

The noise protection tunnel was completed at the end of 2019 after a five-year construction period.
