China News Service, Beijing, May 16 (Reporter Zhang Su) The Supreme People’s Procuratorate of China released data on the 16th to analyze the situation of major issues such as investigations or interventions in the national prosecutors’ records and reports in the first quarter of this year, as well as intervening in prosecution and handling of cases, and reiterated that efforts should be made from the source. We will strictly prevent the occurrence of "relationship cases, favor cases, and money cases", and promote fair and clean justice.
In the first quarter of this year, the prosecutors recorded a total of 4,006 major matters such as intervening or intervening in the prosecution and handling cases, which was 5.6 times that of the first quarter of 2020 and 1.6 times that of the fourth quarter of 2020.
Among them, 270 were filed for the highest prosecution, 1,293 were filed by the provincial procuratorate, 7176 were filed by the municipal procuratorate, and 31,267 were filed by the grass-roots procuratorate, accounting for 0.7%, 3.2%, 17.9% and 78.2%, respectively.
The number of recorded reports has shown a substantial increase, with 6054 recorded reports in January, 7439 recorded reports in February, and 26513 recorded reports in March.
The Supreme Procuratorate believes that with the comprehensive promotion of the national procuratorial team's education and rectification, procuratorial organs at all levels take the initiative to truthfully record reports and gradually form conscious actions.
Judging from the category of the unit to which the reported objects belonged, 5742 cases were involved with procuratorial personnel, accounting for 14.4%; 34264 cases were involved with non-procuratorial personnel, accounting for 85.6%.
The Supreme Prosecutor said that in the next step, it will continue to take the opportunity of the education and rectification of the national political and legal team to focus on guiding the prosecutors to develop the work philosophy of "every interrogation must be recorded" and "every inquiry must be handled in accordance with the law", so as to smooth the channels for the people to report problems. Consciously accept the supervision of all sectors of society, resolutely resist violations of regulations or interference, or intervene in procuratorial case handling, and exercise procuratorial power independently and impartially in accordance with the law.
