(Fighting New Coronary Pneumonia) The cumulative number of confirmed cases in Thailand exceeds 100,000, relaxes some epidemic prevention measures

　　China News Agency, Bangkok, May 16th (Reporter Wang Guoan) Thai officials announced on the 16th that there were 2302 new confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia and 24 new deaths.

So far, the total number of confirmed cases in Thailand has exceeded 100,000 to 101,447, with a total of 589 deaths.

On May 14, local time, Thailand's largest shelter hospital in Nonthaburi, a suburb of Bangkok, was inaugurated.

　　There were 1,218 newly confirmed cases in Bangkok that day, accounting for more than half of the total number of new cases in the country.

　　Since the third wave of epidemics broke out in Thailand in early April, there have been 72,584 confirmed cases and 495 deaths in more than a month. The confirmed cases and deaths have greatly exceeded the sum of the previous two waves.

　　Due to the rapid spread of this round of the epidemic, the Thai government had previously adopted strict control measures.

Following the recent changes in the epidemic situation, the authorities decided to adjust some control measures.

　　The Thai government gazette website issued a notice on the evening of the 15th, saying that with the strengthening of active testing, speeding up vaccination and cooperation from all sectors of society, the domestic epidemic situation has improved.

The government decided to relax some epidemic prevention measures starting on the 17th of this month to reduce the inconvenience caused to people's lives and work.

　　Among them, Thailand's highest-level epidemic control area (dark red) has been reduced from 6 provinces to 4, namely Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani and Samut Prakan.

The original ban on dine-in in these restaurants in the prefecture was adjusted to allow 25% of the seats to be opened for dine-in, but no more than 9 pm.

The takeaway service lasts until 11pm.

　　In addition, the second-level control area (red) has been reduced from 45 prefectures to 17, allowing restaurants to be open for dine-in until 11 pm.

There are 56 prefectures in the third-level control area (orange), and restaurants can resume normal operations.

However, all restaurants across the country still prohibit the sale of alcohol and alcoholic beverages.
