- I think it is important to show that there are Sami all over Sweden, says Eleonora Marsfjell, who from the beginning comes from Trångsviken west of Östersund.

Today she lives in Mogata outside Söderköping.

It all started with a group on social media.

It quickly became more interested and right now a Sami association is being formed in Östergötland.

The interest also extends beyond the county's borders.

Scattered across the country

As soon as there is talk of Sami in the Swedish media, there will be pictures from northern Sweden and pictures from the reindeer industry.

Maybe it would be more correct to show pictures from an ordinary medium-sized Swedish city.

Most Sami do not live in the north of the country, but are spread all over the country.

Having an association can be important for belonging, believes Eleonora Marsfjell.

- It is important to have this community when you live outside Sápmi.
