It was at 12.40 on Sunday afternoon that the police and ambulance were alerted to the scene due to a quarrel between two people.
A man in his 40s is said to have been beaten with a machete and had to be taken to hospital by ambulance.
A man in his 25s was arrested at the scene and is now suspected of aggravated assault, the police write on their website.
The police have interviewed witnesses, carried out photo documentation and seized some items.
