Across the country, there are 24 polling stations that are open on election day, seven of them are located in Västerbotten.

Where possible, there will be separate inputs and outputs.

In the event of a queue, the polling stations will ensure that there is a distance and there will be rubbing alcohol, mouth guards and plastic gloves for the voters.

Voters will wear mouth guards and visors and the polling booth will be disinfected after each voter.

In addition, the traditional coffee shop has been scrapped.

- Prior to the preparations for the election, we have consulted with Smittskydd in Norrbotten.

We have also obtained advice from conducted referendums that have taken place during the corona pandemic.

All to get a corona-safe Sami parliamentary election and corona-adapted polling stations, says the election committee's vice chairman Elisabeth Kråik in a press release.

Are you worried that turnout will decline due to the pandemic?

- No, I'm not worried about that.

Not everyone goes to the polls on election day, you can also vote by mail, says Elisabeth Kråik to SVT.
