The ski poles have been replaced with walking poles, because it probably takes a little help when you fight your way up the last steep part of Ragnhildsborgsbacken.

The sports association Korpen is behind the Ragnhildseverest initiative, where exercisers will climb Mount Everest at home.

By climbing Ragnhildsborgsbacken 197 times, it also corresponds to what is required in altitude meters to reach the world's highest mountain.

- It is not a competition, the idea is that everyone takes it at their own pace and you have until October 31, says Annelie Dahlgen, operations manager at the sports association Korpen in Södertälje.

Raven: "Community and joy of movement"

The sports association has developed a digital tool where all participants can register their turns, in order to see how many walks they have left - and only the uphills are counted.

On the way to the world's highest mountain, the participants also pass Kullaberg, Högvålen and Kebnekajse.

- You should feel community and joy of movement.

Maybe you can get the opportunity to establish new social contacts, I think it is important in pandemic times.

You can meet each other without being close.

It will be a nice social moment, says Annelie Dahlgren.
