Copenhagen (AP) - The Danish Prince Christian (15) missed the relatives who were prevented because of the corona pandemic when he was confirmed on Saturday.

It was a shame that the whole family could not take part, quoted the Danish radio station DR. "They are in our hearts and minds," Christian continued.

The grandson of Queen Margrethe II (81) had to wait a year longer than planned for his confirmation due to the pandemic.

The ceremony took place on Saturday in the church of Fredensborg Castle.

The service and the subsequent celebration had to take place without Christian's uncle Prince Joachim, who lives in Paris, and his family: guests from abroad could not travel due to the pandemic.

Christian's father, Crown Prince Frederik (52), was confirmed almost 40 years ago in the almost 300-year-old castle church around 30 kilometers north of Copenhagen, as was Queen Margrethe on April 1, 1955. Christian is number two in the Danish line of succession after his father.

He's just about to finish his ninth grade elementary school.

After the summer vacation he would like to go to a high school in Næstved, almost 70 kilometers southwest of Copenhagen.
