Leipzig (AP) - Julian Nagelsmann's long-time assistant Timmo Hardung does not follow the coach to Bayern Munich and stays with Bundesliga club RB Leipzig.
The coach confirmed a corresponding report from the "kicker" on Saturday.
“I could have pushed through that, but it also has to make sense.
The job profile is already being filled out by other people at Bavaria, ”said Nagelsmann.
The friendship does not suffer from it, they continue to plan a vacation together in the summer.
The trainer will only take video analyst Benjamin Glück with him to Munich.
Nagelsmann brought Hardung, who is officially employed as a team manager at RB, into play as a possible successor to ex-sports director Markus Krösche.
«He was already called sports director two when Markus was still there.
He has a very good job in Leipzig that he enjoys, »said Nagelsmann.
At the moment, the duties of sports director at RB are temporarily being taken over by squad planner Christopher Vivell, among others.
