Mainz (dpa) - Sports director Christian Heidel has shown himself to be extremely pleased and proud after the prevented relegation of FSV Mainz 05.
“This relegation is a joint effort by all those involved who held the entire second half of the season together,” Heidel was quoted on Saturday evening on the club's website for the 05er.
According to the results on Saturday, the Rheinhessen will remain in the league before their own game on matchday 33 of the Bundesliga against Borussia Dortmund (6 p.m. on Sunday).
