Many people testify to a harsh tone in the dog world when it comes to the discussion about purebred or mixed breed dogs.

When Crown Princess Victoria got a mixed breed puppy last summer, voices were raised that the King would be deprived of the title of the Swedish Kennel Club's highest patron.

The court saw the choice of dog breed as a private matter and chose not to comment on the discussion.

TV4 has several times been met with anger on social media when they showed mixed breed dogs in the program Nyhetsmorgon.

Sees it as a harmful trend

One of the critics of mixed breeds is Marianne Blomqvist, Trollhättan.

She has bred purebred dogs for over 65 years and believes that popular mixed breeds such as labradoodle and cockerpoo are a harmful trend that destroys the traditional breeds.

In addition, she says, the uncertainty is greater in terms of hereditary diseases if you buy a mixed breed.

- We have 360 breeds.

They have a task, they are bred, and we can not mix them with any other breed because then we destroy it, she says in SVT's Mötet.

Opponent: "Strong inbreeding"

Cajsa Stålhammar breeds labradoodles, a mixture between labrador and poodle, in her home outside Lund.

She believes that many purebred dogs are bred for purposes that do not suit the modern dog owner today - and that the risk of inbreeding is also great.

- In a mixed breed, it is the great genetic variation that is its strength and that makes breeding sustainable.

In reindeer breeds, they have got rid of that variation through quite strong inbreeding, she says.
