According to the head of the Lipetsk region, the police materials on the fact of violations of the rules by the Korolevs were sent to the regional prosecutor's office and the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia.

Marina Korobova, a spokesperson for the Lipetsk region's central office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, told TASS that on May 13 at 19:30 Moscow time, the Lipetsk police received a message that the Lexus car allegedly grossly violates traffic rules, after which the State Traffic Inspectorate detained the driver.

The source reported that senator and ex-governor of the Lipetsk region Oleg Korolev was driving the car, an administrative protocol was drawn up against him.

Korolev himself said that on May 13, his heart caught and the pressure behind the wheel rose sharply, after which he drove to the side of the road.

At the same time, he stressed that he had not committed any accidents and was absolutely sober.
