Bretten (dpa / lsw) - Two men allegedly delivered an illegal car race on federal highways 293 and 35 near Bretten (Karlsruhe district).
A 23-year-old and a 31-year-old were traveling at “significantly excessive speed” and overtook each other several times, the police said on Friday.
How fast they were traveling was not known at first.
Another driver had observed the alleged race and alerted the emergency services.
However, the witness quickly lost sight of the drivers.
When the manhunt was initiated immediately, they were caught.
The two men must now answer in court on suspicion of illegal motor vehicle racing.
The police are looking for other witnesses and possible victims.
