Berlin (dpa / bb) - The corona incidence is continuing to decline in Berlin.

On Saturday, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported 67.3 cases of corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days.

On Friday the value was still 71.5.

It's the fifth day in a row that the incidence is below the important threshold of 100.

If there are five working days without interruption below 100, the corona rules can be relaxed.

According to the report, the number of new infections reported within one day rose by 455 to a total of 175,019. Accordingly, three more people died in connection with corona infections.

According to the information, the total number of pandemic deaths is now 3399. 165,400 people are considered recovered.

If the incidence value remains below 100 for five working days in a row, easing is possible on the day after next.

That would be possible in Berlin for the first time next Wednesday.

According to the will of the Senate, the first steps should already then be taken.

Museums and memorials, for example, could then reopen under certain conditions.

From the Friday before Pentecost, cafes and restaurants in the open air are likely to serve guests again.

The Senate decided on Friday.
