Cologne (dpa) - Although she received a lot of praise for her tango with two men, it has danced out for Auma Obama: The 61-year-old journalist and sociologist was selected by the audience in the quarter-finals of the RTL dance show "Let's Dance".

The Icelandic footballer Rúrik Gíslason (33) and the actress Valentina Pahde (26) fought head-to-head for the place at the top.

Obama had studied and obtained his doctorate in Germany and returned to her home country Kenya in 2007 to work for the aid organization Care.

She looks after children and young people, among other things through sport, to strengthen their self-esteem and to be able to lead a self-determined life.

In 2010, the half-sister of the former US President Barack Obama (59) founded her own foundation.

In the tenth "Let's Dance" episode, Obama and her dance partner Andrzej Cibis first had a quickstep and then - in a trio with professional dancer Robert Beitsch - put a tango on the floor. Her second dance was rated significantly better, the judges particularly praised Obama's acting talent, which she had shown during the tango interlude. For both dances together, Obama got 42 points. The audience then decided in favor of boxer Simon Zachenhuber, who was actually six points behind her.

The Icelandic footballer Rúrik Gíslason (33) as a “torero” in the Paso Doble even stole the show from his dance partner, professional dancer Renata Lusin - at least in the eyes of juror Joachim Llambi: “Today I have Renata maybe only five percent of the whole dance seen because you were so, so strong! ”said Llambi.

The actress Valentina Pahde (26) also received a lot of praise from the jury.

During her contemporary dance, she had held onto a hoop hanging from the ceiling several times and spun in the air with it.

"I have the feeling that your soul, your body has spoken," said juror Motsi Mabuse.

Gíslason and the Pahde received full points for their first dance performance.

In the subsequent "Trio-Dance", however, the actress got 26 points and the soccer player only 25 - with which Pahde was able to overtake Gíslason again.

In the second dance, for which all dance couples brought another professional dancer into the team, ex- “Prince Charming” Nicolas Puschmann was particularly convincing.

The dancer Kathrin Menzinger joined him and his partner Vadim Garbuzov.

The trio's rumba, in which Puschmann was carried through the air by the other two, among others, earned them a total of 27 points from the jury.

In the coming week, the remaining four will go to the semi-finals, in which they will have to prove their talent for improvisation.

In “Impro Dance even more extreme”, the participants do their dance and only have a short time to prepare for their performance.
