Würzburg (dpa / lby) - After the sealed relegation from the 2nd Bundesliga, the focus of the Würzburger Kickers is on shaping the future of the third division.

The position of the trainer has a high priority.

Interim coach Ralf Santelli will return to the youth training center in Lower Franconia at the end of the season.

According to information from the “Main-Post”, Christian Preusser is the favorite for the vacant post.

The 37-year-old has been training the U23 of Bundesliga club SC Freiburg for five years and is about to move up to the third division with his team.

One thing is certain: Preusser can develop young players, which is important in the future Kickers orientation.

Santelli is still responsible for the two farewell performances from the 2nd division this Sunday (3:30 p.m.) in Braunschweig and at the end at home against SC Paderborn.

And the 52-year-old wants a degree.

“It's only fair to every other team in the league that we play decently until the last day of the match.

We will definitely do that, ”announced Santelli.

For Eintracht Braunschweig in particular, the relegation relegation place is still about everything against the Kickers.
