After a so-called section 7 examination, it was concluded that he could have suffered from a serious mental disorder at the time of the attacks and that there are reasons for the man to undergo a forensic psychiatric examination.

All the attacked men survived.

Hope to get answers to questions

Many Vetlanda residents that SVT spoke to in the weeks after the attack have asked themselves why it happened.

One of them is the chairman of the municipal board, Henrik Tvarnö (S), who hopes that the district court hearing will now provide answers to many questions.

- Well, that is what one hopes for when the investigation is finished, that we find out a little more why it happened, Tvarnö said some time after the act.
