It was in April that a woman was murdered at a travel center in Linköping.

A man is in custody on suspicion of probable cause for murder.

SVT Nyheter Öst has previously reported that the man would undergo a section 7 examination, which may show if there is reason to suspect that the man is suffering from a mental disorder.

Suspected of suffering from a serious mental disorder

The investigation, which has now been carried out, shows that the man may be suspected of suffering from a serious mental disorder, and that he may also have done so during the act.

The recommendation from the forensic psychiatric examination unit is that the man should undergo a forensic psychiatric examination, which is a more comprehensive investigation.

The forensic psychiatric examination can determine whether the man can be sentenced to prison or forensic psychiatric care.

Prosecution advanced

Earlier, Deputy Chief Prosecutor Malin Axelsson announced that the prosecution, which was to be brought on 14 May, needed to be postponed.

At a remand hearing on Wednesday, the decision was made that charges should be brought no later than 9 June and that the man should continue to be remanded in custody.
