Quakenbrück (dpa / lni) - Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn (CDU) has described the further decline in the number of new corona infections in Germany as encouraging.
The fact that the nationwide seven-day incidence fell below the threshold of 100 for the first time since March 20 gives cause for confidence, he said on Friday when visiting the Bundeswehr pharmacy in Quakenbrück (Osnabrück district).
The situation is very different nationwide, because there are districts with an incidence value of 35, but also those with over 200.
Spahn emphasized that it was important to him that if the room was opened at an incidence below 100, it would first be done outside. This applies to outdoor catering or small concerts or a football game with a reduced number of participants and a spacing and hygiene concept. "I can only advertise to the federal states and counties that we wait until we are below the 50s incidence, especially in indoor catering." If several people stay longer indoors without a mask, this is the mixture that makes it easy for the virus to spread.
With a view to the summer vacation, Spahn referred to the current recommendation to forego travel that is not necessary as far as possible.
If the infection rate is low, it will certainly be able to loosen up towards the summer.
"I understand the longing, but we are still in the pandemic."
Therefore, one should choose countries that also had low incidence values.
In case of doubt, however, it is not the long journey, but “rather the North Sea than the South Sea”.
