Berlin (dpa / bb) - The seven-day incidence in Berlin has continued to fall.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) stated on Friday the number of new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days at 71.5.

On Thursday the value was still at 83.4.

It's the fourth day in a row that the incidence is below the important threshold of 100.

If there are five days without interruption below 100, the corona rules can be relaxed.

According to the report on Friday, the number of new infections reported within one day rose by 155 to a total of 174,564. According to this, 71 more people died in connection with corona infections.

In the past few days the number of deaths has been much lower.

According to the information, the total number of pandemic deaths is now 3396. 164,900 people are considered recovered.

In the event of relaxation, the nightly exit restrictions could no longer apply, after which it is generally no longer allowed to leave one's own apartment or property between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

An opening of the outdoor catering would then be within reach.

The Senate agreed on this on Tuesday.
