Bergisch Gladbach (dpa / lnw) - A 42-year-old attacked another resident in a shelter for the homeless in Bergisch Gladbach with a machete.

Only through the intervention of another man was it possible to kick the gun away and avert the danger on Thursday evening, the police reported on Friday.

Then the 42-year-old barricaded himself in his room.

Since he did not open the door for the police, they were reportedly kicked.

When trying to arrest the man, the 42-year-old also resisted "massively", the police reported.

He pushed the officers away and tried to get their firearms.

Finally he was handcuffed.

According to their own statements, the police found not only the machete but also throwing stars on his premises.
