The government media office in the Gaza Strip condemned, on Thursday, the Israeli army's targeting of Palestinian journalists.

In a statement, he said, "We condemn the Israeli targeting of a car bearing the (press) badge carrying Palestinian journalists, during their news coverage in the village of Umm al-Nasr, north of Gaza, which resulted in light and moderate injuries."

And the media office considered, in the statement, that this is a blatant violation and violation of international humanitarian law.

The statement called on international organizations concerned with freedom of opinion and expression to put pressure on the occupation to stop attacks against journalists and the media in the Palestinian territories, and to provide protection for them and their headquarters.

Yesterday, two cameramen of Anadolu Agency in Gaza were injured as a result of Israeli shelling, while covering the escalating events in the northern Gaza Strip.

On Wednesday, the Committee to Protect Journalists (a non-governmental organization based in New York) said that at least 8 journalists were injured due to the brutal attacks by Israeli forces in occupied Jerusalem.

Since Monday, 119 have been killed, among them 27 children and 11 women, in addition to 600 wounded, as a result of the continuous brutal Israeli raids on Gaza.

In the confrontations in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, 4 Palestinians were killed, in addition to hundreds of wounded, according to official Palestinian sources.
