Waldkirch (dpa / lsw) - A train on the Elztalbahn caught fire on Thursday and the driver saved 13 travelers from the S2 line.
According to the federal police, no one was injured on Friday.
The driver had discovered smoke on the train and immediately initiated an emergency stop at Buchholz in Waldkirch.
Fire brigades from several villages put out the fire.
The railway line from Denzlingen to Waldkirch was closed for several hours.
Since the S-Bahn was no longer operational due to the fire, it had to be towed.
The cause of the fire was initially unknown.
