Munich (dpa / lby) - The President of the Bavarian State Parliament, Ilse Aigner (CSU), has condemned anti-Semitism at demonstrations in Germany.

"Israel is being attacked by terrorists with rockets, and hatred of Jews is also spreading in Germany," Aigner wrote on the short message service Twitter.

"When demonstrators chant anti-Jewish agitation or riot in front of synagogues and burn Stars of David, then it is pure anti-Semitism and sympathy for Islamist terror," Aigner continued.

«These are crimes that have to be prosecuted.

We will not accept the threats to our Jewish fellow citizens in Germany and protect them. "

In the Middle East, the conflict between Palestinians and Israelis has been escalating for days.

Palestinian militants have targeted rocket attacks in Israel.

Israel blames the Hamas organization for this.

The Israeli security forces responded during the night with air strikes on targets in the densely Palestinian-populated Gaza Strip.

In Germany, people are reacting to developments in the Middle East with pro-Palestinian and pro-Israeli demonstrations.
