Sveaskog has now increased timber prices by SEK 30-50 per cubic meter, which corresponds to an increase of about 10 percent when it comes to pine and spruce timber with a top diameter of 14 centimeters and up.

Sveaskog's timber prices for pine are now SEK 530 per cubic meter and for spruce SEK 490.

- We simply want more timber to arrive at our local sawmills in Norrbotten, so that they can run at full capacity now when there are good times, says Erik Levén.

"Hope the forest owners want to sell"

Levén dismisses that the price increase would have anything to do with the protests against Sveaskog's fellings.

- It is due to increased global demand that Sveaskog has now chosen to raise timber prices.

We want to buy as much timber as possible.

It has absolutely nothing to do with the protests, he says.

But there are forest owners who think that timber prices are still too low.

- I hope that the forest owners rethink and want to sell, says Erik Levén.
