"On May 10, 2021, Russian airspace control devices over the neutral waters of the Black Sea detected air targets approaching the Russian state border," RIA Novosti reported.
It is noted that the Su-27 fighters from the air defense duty officers of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of the Southern Military District identified the air targets as Mirage-2000 French Air Force tactical aircraft and escorted them over the Black Sea.
The department clarified that there were no violations of the state border of Russia.
In April, a Russian MiG-31 fighter took off to escort a US Air Force reconnaissance aircraft over the Pacific Ocean.
