On May 9, local time, some Japanese citizen groups held a rally at the National Arena, the main venue of the Tokyo Olympics, calling for the cancellation of the Tokyo Olympics.

On the same day, the Tokyo Olympics track and field test event was being held at the National Arena. The demonstrators gathered in front of the "Japan Olympic Museum" in Shinjuku and began to parade near the arena at 6 pm local time.

About 100 people attended the rally that day.

They held flags and placards that read "Compared with the Olympics, life should be guarded" and "Stop the torch relay", and appealed to pedestrians along the road.

The demonstrators also claimed that the medical supply system was in a hurry due to the spread of the new crown epidemic, and emphasized that "doctors and nurses have reached their limits."

At present, there are only more than two months left before the opening of the Tokyo Olympics, but the epidemic in Japan continues to spread. The state of emergency in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Hyogo has been extended to May 31.

In addition, from May 12, Aichi and Fukuoka prefectures will also enter a state of emergency.
