Berlin (dpa) - The great tremor continues from Berlin to Augsburg, Bremen, Bielefeld and Cologne.

For a handful of Bundesliga clubs, the last two match days are still about staying in the upper house of football.

Only in Mainz is the situation more relaxed, the threatening backdrop of the second division is only theoretical.

Hertha is betting on the catch-up game against the first relegated Schalke on Wednesday.

The outcome of the direct duels between Bremen and Augsburg and Berlin and Cologne on Saturday is important for everyone.

FSV Mainz 05 (12th place / 36 points / goal difference -16): Despite the difficult remaining program with games against Dortmund and Wolfsburg, Mainz no longer has much to fear.

There are two reasons for this: The 05er are by far the most stable team and have not lost a game since the end of February.

And you have the most comfortable starting position.

Success trainer Bo Svensson nevertheless warned: "The history of Mainz shows that you shouldn't rely on anything."

The race to catch up is all the more remarkable because Mainz was still on par with the Schalke fans, who have since been beaten, at Christmas.

FC Augsburg (13/33 / -17): The Augsburg trend actually leads straight into the second division: Only one win in the last seven games including two embarrassing bankruptcies against the basement teams Schalke and Cologne speak against the rescue. Hope in the Fuggerstadt, however, is a new impetus from returning coach Markus Weinzierl. He lost his debut against Stuttgart (1: 2), but the courageous appearance of the FCA should be enough for a final spurt starting with the home game against Bremen and a happy ending.

Hertha BSC (14/31 / -11): Now just keep calm. After the promising restart after the corona quarantine, the zero number against Bielefeld in Berlin caused a mood damper. One had simply hoped for more. Trainer Pal Dardai absolutely wants to uphold fitness and mental freshness. The failures of Maximilian Mittelstädt and Matheus Cunha exacerbate the situation. The last of three catch-up games on Wednesday at Schalke should still give the signal. For Dardai it is the «wild game». Another win against Cologne on Saturday and Hertha would be saved.

Werder Bremen (15/31 / -17): The point against Leverkusen gave Bremen courage.

Unlike last year, the green-whites have it in their own hands.

However, the rest of the program is tough.

The direct duel at FC Augsburg on Saturday will now be particularly important.

A win could mean salvation, a defeat could lead to a fall to the relegation ranks.

On the last day of the game, it's against Gladbach.

The new stability on the defensive gives rise to hope.

The attack is a cause for concern.

The last time Werder scored more than one goal in a 2-0 win in Bielefeld was on March 10th.

Arminia Bielefeld (16/31 / -28): The newcomer from East Westphalia has been collecting points for weeks and is very stable under coach Frank Kramer - except for the 0: 5 against Gladbach. The remaining program against Hoffenheim and Stuttgart is comparatively grateful, so at least the relegation place seems realistic. For the club with probably the smallest budget of the 18 Bundesliga clubs, the fact that relegation would be seen as a great success and not just as a salvation from the crash speaks for itself. The main problem of Arminia is the lack of offensive power. There has only been one goal of his own in the past four games and so far only 23.

1. FC Köln (17/29 / -27): As the penultimate, the Cologne team have the worst starting position.

The euphoria of the two previous victories was also violently stopped by the 1: 4 against Freiburg.

The rest of the program with the away task at rival Hertha and the home game against the relegated Schalke 04 seems at least solvable.

However, with only two successes in their own stadium, Cologne are extremely weak at home and have almost chronic storm problems, as Sebastian Andersson, the only trained attacker with the potential to start, continues to grapple with knee problems.
