Berlin (dpa) - Hertha BSC has to complain about three failures after the 0-0 win against Arminia Bielefeld.

Offensive player Matheus Cunha will not be available for the Berliners in the relegation battle of the Bundesliga this week in the games at Schalke 04 on Wednesday and against 1. FC Köln on Saturday.

The reason is a ligament injury in the right ankle joint of the 21-year-old Brazilian, as Hertha announced on Monday after further investigations.

At least against Schalke, left-back Maximilian Mittelstädt will not be able to play either.

The 24-year-old spent one night in the hospital because of a concussion.

He had suffered this in a collision with Bielefeld's Anderson-Lenda Lucoqui.

This extends the list of failures in Berlin.

For Mattéo Guendouzi, the season has already ended after a metatarsal fracture.

Sami Khedria was absent from Bielefeld due to a calf injury.

Dodi Lukebakio, Marvin Plattenhardt and Rune Jarstein are not yet fit again after their corona illnesses.

Coach Pal Dardai also has to reschedule in his coaching team.

As feared, goalkeeping coach Ilja Hofstädt will be out for a long time due to a tear in the Achilles tendon during the warm-up program for the game against Bielefeld.

Who will take care of the training of the goalkeepers Alexander Schwolow and Nils Körber will still be discussed.

The Berliners are in 14th place in the table with 31 points.

With wins against Schalke and Cologne, the class could still be made perfect this week.

In April, the whole team had to go into corona quarantine for two weeks due to several positive cases.
