Brandenburg / Havel (dpa / bb) - In the collective bargaining conflict between the metal and electrical industries in Berlin and Brandenburg, employers and the union continued their talks on Monday.

They lasted in the afternoon, as a spokeswoman for IG Metall said.

The negotiations ended on Friday with no result.

According to the union, the employers have submitted an offer that should be discussed at the weekend.

For the union, the negotiations are also about harmonizing working conditions in East and West.

Negotiations are also taking place in Saxony.

The talks will be held there separately and will continue on Tuesday.

According to IG Metall, employees in the eastern federal states work three hours more per week than their colleagues in the west for the same salary.

Calculated on the hourly rate, the difference in wages is 8.5 percent, which IG Metall demands in a "collective adjustment allowance".

In the nationwide collective bargaining in the industry, there had already been a pilot degree in North Rhine-Westphalia.

In previous negotiations, the Association of the Metal and Electrical Industry in Berlin and Brandenburg (VME) had always insisted on adopting this without further alignment.

IG Metall, on the other hand, proposes a step model with first steps towards harmonization.

In the past few weeks she had repeatedly called for warning strikes and rallies in Berlin, Brandenburg and Saxony.
