Chad: Mahamat Idriss Déby in Niger, the army announces the end of operations against the Fact

This is his first trip outside of Chad since he took over as head of the Military Council.

Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno is in Niger this Monday, May 10.

He went to meet his troops in the department of Téra, but he also spoke on his arrival with the highest Nigerien authorities.

At the same time, the Chadian army announced the end of military operations against the rebels of the Front for Alternation and Concord in Chad (Fact).

He was welcomed by the Nigerien Prime Minister, Ouhoumoudou Mahamadou.

Accompanied by some members of the Transition Military Council, all in fatigues, General Mahamat Idriss Déby had a long interview with President Mohamed Bazoum.

Over 150 prisoners of war

Back in Ndjamena on Sunday at the head of a large column, the high-ranking officer handed over 156 prisoners of war, including political party leaders who have become rebels against justice.

For the army which has indicated for ten days that the rebellion is in disarray, the search operations are over.

Other sources indicate that troops mobilized from provincial garrisons have also returned to their bases.

For its part, the rebellion indicates that nothing is finished.

They had said the same thing before our offensive on April 17,
