A truck driver has been arrested in Sant Joan les Fonts (Girona) for multiplying the permitted alcohol rate by eight.
The test carried out by the Mossos gave a result of 1.31 milligrams per liter of exhaled air.
According to this body, the events took place on May 7 when the man, a 40-year-old Irish citizen, left the road on the N-260z road.
Around 8:30 p.m., the agents who were conducting a control on a parallel road, the A-26, saw the truck and went to the place to help the driver.
When they got there, they saw
clear symptoms of being under the influence of alcoholic beverages
in the truck driver
and they carried out a first test that was positive with a rate of 1.31 milligrams, more than eight times the maximum allowed for this type of professionals.
The man, who has a record for similar events, was detained for this reason and the vehicle, including the trailer, was removed from the road.
The following day, the driver was brought to the disposal of the Olot guard acting court, which ordered his release with charges.
