Wustermark (dpa / bb) - An ICE with around 200 passengers was evacuated on Sunday evening in Wustermark (Havelland district) due to a technical defect.

The train was on its way from Basel to Berlin when the fault occurred on the multiple unit for an unexplained cause, according to a spokesman for Deutsche Bahn.

There was also a slight development of smoke.

The passengers switched from the express train to a replacement train that took them to Berlin.

The broken-down ICE was able to resume its journey a little later.
