Cottbus / Fürstenwalde (dpa / bb) - As in the previous year, the regional soccer division SV Babelsberg 03 and FSV Fürstenwalde are contesting the final of the Brandenburg State Cup.

Defending champion Fürstenwalde prevailed in the semi-finals on Sunday against FSV Luckenwalde 3: 1 (0: 1).

Babelsberg came to a 3-0 (1-0) win against FC Energie Cottbus in the Stadium of Friendship.

Cottbus had to digest a quick deficit at the competitive premiere of coach Damir Agovic as Dirk Lottner's successor. After a corner, Sven Reimann headed the ball into the goal of the hosts from six meters in the eleventh minute. Even after the break, Babelsberg had the clearer chances and came with a directly converted free kick by Lukas Wilton to the preliminary decision (67th), David Danko set the final point in the 87th minute.

In Fürstenwalde, the hosting defending champion initially set the scene.

The goal in the first round was scored by Luckenwalde through Christian Flath after 31 minutes.

After the break, the team of the outgoing coach Matthias Mauksch pressed even harder on the equalizer and was rewarded in the 56th minute by Arlind Shoshi, who hit with a shot from a free kick.

Louis Böcker put the hosts on the road to victory after 72 minutes, Johan Martynets removed all doubts seven minutes later.

The final will be played on May 29th as part of the «Amateurs Final Day».

The winner qualifies for the first main round in the DFB Cup.
