Marbach / Lauter (dpa) - Eventing rider Michael Jung from Horb has won the four-star test at the Marbach eventing.

The three-time Olympic champion rode his 13-year-old Hanoverian gelding from fifth to victory in the final cross-country test on Sunday.

"I am very happy that it was still enough to win," he said.

He achieved two remarkable four-star successes within five days after the 38-year-old won the "Badenia" in Mannheim in the show jumping competition on Tuesday.

Jung was one of two of the 70 riders who took part in the cross-country test who stayed within the target time.

"It was certainly a small advantage for me that I had ridden two horses before," he said.

Team Olympic champion Sandra Auffarth from Ganderkesee was able to claim her second place after dressage and jumping on the fresh French stallion Viamant du Matz after two penalty points and was exactly one penalty point behind young.

The Austrian Lea Siegl on Fighting Line, who also reached the finish without penalty points, came in surprising third place and climbed from 12th place to a podium.
