Hanover (dpa / lni) - In Lower Saxony, 406 new corona infections were reported within one day.

According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the nationwide seven-day incidence rose slightly on Monday from 83.4 to 84.6.

The incidence indicates how many people were newly infected per 100,000 inhabitants within a week.

On Monday a week ago, the national value was still 99.5.

In addition, four more deaths were registered, since the beginning of the pandemic there are now 5410 in Lower Saxony.

The highest incidence values ​​were reported for the city of Salzgitter (189.9), the city of Delmenhorst (177.9) and the district of Vechta (158.2).

The Hanover region was again just above the critical value at 101.8 - so the residents who have not yet been vaccinated cannot hope for further easing of the situation quickly.

The lowest values ​​were recorded in the districts of Wittmund (28.1), Friesland (33.4) and Goslar (35.2).

According to the RKI, the seven-day incidence in the city of Bremen was 95.8 on Monday and 116.2 in Bremerhaven.
