Halle (dpa / sa) - In the process of the killed two-year-old Tim from Querfurt, the results of a renewed psychiatric assessment of the 31-year-old accused will be the subject of this Monday.
On the last day of the trial at the regional court in Halle, some of his statements raised questions about his mental state, which the psychiatric expert has now investigated.
In June and July of last year, the German man is said to have sadistically tortured, abused, and finally beaten and kicked the two-year-old son of his then partner several times.
He is charged with serious child sexual abuse, assault and murder.
The boy's 37-year-old mother from Querfurt (Saalekreis) is accused of mistreating people under protection and of negligent homicide.
A judgment is expected in May.
