The Saudi media announced the interception of a drone launched by the Houthis on the south of the Kingdom, and the Yemeni army reported that it had repelled an attack by the Houthis in Al-Jawf Governorate, while the United States called for an international consensus in the Security Council to end the war in Yemen.

Saudi media reported on Saturday evening that the coalition forces intercepted and destroyed a drone launched by the Houthis towards the city of Khamis Mushait in the Asir region, in the south of the Kingdom.

The Houthi military spokesman said that they carried out a drone operation on King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushayt.

On the other hand, the Yemeni army reported that it had repelled a Houthi attack in the Al-Jadafir area in Al-Jawf governorate, and that it managed to destroy two armored vehicles and two military vehicles.

The army indicated that coalition warplanes launched raids targeting Houthi military sites in locations east of the city of Al-Hazm, the administrative center of Al-Jawf Governorate.

There was no immediate comment from the Houthis about the fighting.

On the political front, the US State Department announced that the US Special Envoy to Yemen Tim Lenderking met in Washington with his country's representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Linda Thomas Greenfield, to discuss “the suffering caused by the Houthi attack on Marib Governorate, which is in stark contrast to their supposed commitment to improving the humanitarian situation in the country. ".

The two American diplomats called for an international consensus in the Security Council to end the Yemen war, and stressed the importance of this consensus.

During the past days, the UN envoys Martin Griffiths and the American Lenderking held talks, which ended Thursday, in Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman, on ways to solve the Yemen crisis.
