Prime Minister Hong Nam-ki said, "The number of corona confirmed cases is generally downward and sideways," he said. "We have decided not to extend the special quarantine inspection week."

Acting Prime Minister Hong said this at a meeting of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters presiding at the Seoul Government Complex on the 9th.

Acting Prime Minister Hong urged, "However, one week, one week is a special week, and we are working on quarantine, so that the average number of confirmed cases per day will drop below 500 sooner or later."

The government has strengthened quarantine by setting two weeks as a special quarantine inspection week from the 26th of last month to today.

Acting Prime Minister Hong referred to media reports that parents and children visited a nursing hospital with a glass window in between, and instructed that "to minimize discomfort to the public, provide an effective contact visit plan by the end of this month."

As for the vaccination effect, he evaluated that "After the AstraZeneca vaccination, the number of confirmed patients in nursing hospitals and facilities has decreased to 20, and as of today, it is only 4 people."

In addition, he stressed that one member of the church in Goesan, Chungbuk, where the group infection occurred, was the only one who received the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine, and that "Please have faith in the vaccine effect and receive the vaccination."
