Wenzenbach (dpa) - While escaping from a police checkpoint in Regensburg, a 30-year-old driver slightly injured four officers.

The man ran away on Saturday at the sight of the police at high speed and raced out of town in the direction of the A93, as the Upper Palatinate police headquarters announced in the evening.

Several patrols have been alerted to stop the reckless and risky driving style.

After leaving the autobahn, according to the police, the man collided with his car in Grünthal near Wenzenbach with a parked vehicle and two company vehicles.

The 30-year-old also suffered minor injuries and was temporarily arrested.

Why he fled the police was initially unclear.

According to the police, the property damage amounts to around 50,000 euros.
