Toulon regained confidence by easily dominating (44-10) in Mayol a Toulouse team largely altered at the end of the 23rd day of the Top 14, thanks to a great Louis Carbonel author of two tests and a 100% against the poles.

Thanks to this five-point victory which allows the RCT to move up to fifth place in the standings, Patrice Collazo's players can more serenely continue the next two matches that arise, in Montpellier on Tuesday and in Clermont next Saturday.

Stade Toulousain, which presented itself in the Var with an bis team after qualifying for the European Cup final, nevertheless retains first place in the standings.

The 22-year-old Toulon opener, Louis Carbonel, signed an XXL performance against the Toulouse youth, passing 29 points on Saturday night.

However, his teammates had a difficult start to the match.

From the first seconds, the young Toulouse, full of carefree, camped in the Var camp.

But they also showed irregularity and impatience and failed to cross the line despite several hot situations.

After a single penalty passed by Thomas Ramos, the teammates of scrum-half Baptiste Serin, bombarded captain at the end of the season, woke up and finally managed to come and play in the Toulouse camp.

After 20 minutes, the Toulonnais finally launched their first offensives and Louis Carbonel immediately sanctioned the opponent's lack of discipline with two penalties.

But it was finally at the very end of the first period that the RCT reversed the meeting.

After a ball recovered in the opposing 22 meters, the Var winger Gervais Cordin found the test at the end of the line (39th).

Louis Carbonel then pierced the Toulouse defense to add five points (40 + 2).

After half-time, Ugo Mola's players managed to react thanks to the Var indiscipline and the two yellow cards received in quick succession by the three-quarter left wing Gabin Villière and Ory.

At 15 against 13, the third line from Toulouse Selevasio Tolofua rewarded his team with a try (53rd), just after the exit from injury of his brother Christopher (hit in the right knee) on the Toulon side.

But Toulouse's joy will be short-lived.

Charles Ollivon's teammates did not let the doubt settle.

On his first ball hit after his card, Villière was well served at the foot by Cordin and only had to go on trial (56th).

Louis Carbonel offered the bonus to his people by registering a try without anyone's help.

The double under-20 world champion intercepted a ball in the opposing 30 meters and spun behind the in-goal, zigzagging in the middle of Toulouse defenders (63rd).

Serin also spun on trial to definitely ensure the bonus (73rd).
