Since the end of December, 110,261 cases with indications of "worrying variants" have been sent to the State Health Office.

Viruses with mutations that have a higher risk of infection, such as those discovered in Great Britain (B.1.1.7) and South Africa (B1.351), are considered to be such.

According to data from the Robert Koch Institute, 3,493,821 people in Baden-Württemberg have so far been vaccinated against the virus for the first time.

That is 31.5 percent of the population.

A second vaccination, which is required for some vaccines, was given to 954,327 people (8.6 percent);

they are therefore considered fully vaccinated.

According to the State Health Office, 11.7 percent of the 2,431 operable intensive care beds are currently free.

This value is important to be able to assess the utilization of the health system.

Such beds are not only needed for Covid 19 patients with severe courses, but also for other serious illnesses.
