Ingelheim (dpa / lrs) - After a suspected car race in the Mainz-Bingen district, the police identified two suspects.
Witnesses reported two cars on Friday evening that, despite oncoming traffic between Schwabenheim and Ingelheim, overtook and slowed each other several times, as the police announced on Saturday.
Other drivers may also have been endangered.
In the course of the manhunt, the officers came across the previously described cars and drivers, two 18 and 19-year-old men, at a gas station.
They are now being investigated for participating in a prohibited motor vehicle race.
The police are looking for more witnesses.
