Fürth (dpa / lsw) - The Karlsruher SC has at least fought its way to a point in the continuation of its victory series with the promotion candidate SpVgg Greuther Fürth.

Philipp Hofmann (4th minute) and a mistake by Fürth's goalkeeper Sascha Burchert Marco Thiede (36th) ensured the KSC lead twice.

Havard Nielsen (26th) and Branimir Hrgota (70th / foul penalty) brought the playfully strong Fürth back twice and ensured the next Karlsruhe game without a win.

Hofmann once played for the Franks for half a year, now the KSC attacker annoyed his ex-club in the promotion race.

After a cross from Sebastian Jung, Hofmann prevailed in the air duel against Paul Jaeckel, who was not optimally positioned, and celebrated his eleventh goal of the season.

Fürth quickly recovered from the goal conceded and came to a deserved and consistent compensation.

But after Burchert steered a Thiede shot that was actually too unplaced into the goal, the Franks had to run after a deficit again.

Fürth remained clearly superior - and rewarded himself with another equalization.

After a foul on Hrgota, he converted safely himself.

Another penalty after a handball by Christoph Kobald was not given after the video referee intervened (72nd).

Fürth pushed and pushed, but the winning goal was no longer successful.
