Mainz (dpa / lrs) - The four state secretaries in the green ministries for climate protection and family have been determined.

In the climate protection and environment ministry, Anne Spiegel is supported by Katrin Eder and Erwin Manz, as the party announced on Friday.

The previous State Secretary Christiane Rohleder is leaving the Ministry of Family and Integration.

New additions are David Profit and the non-party scientist Jürgen Hardeck.

The Green politician Eder studied political science in Mainz and worked from 2004 to 2007 in the Bundestag office of Ulrike Höfken, who was Environment Minister in Rhineland-Palatinate until last year.

Eder has been the City of Mainz's department head for the environment and transport since 2011.

In this task she promoted bicycle traffic, expanded public transport and introduced 30 km / h zones in the city center.

"As State Secretary, she will be a great and highly competent asset to the new climate protection ministry," said Spiegel.

Manz had been head of department in the Ministry of the Environment since 2016, where he was responsible for water management.

With the biologist, she has “an accomplished expert in environmental policy” at her side, said Spiegel.

Manz is also the leader of the Greens in the Bad Kreuznach district council.

The lawyer Profit, who was born in Ludwigshafen, was previously deputy head of the central department in the Hessian Ministry of Science and Art. Before that, his career also took him to Rhineland-Palatinate, for example as a judge at the Mainz Social Court.

After studying in Bonn, the non-party scientist Hardeck worked, among other things, as an author, guitarist and singer.

From 1990 to 1995, the native of the Westerwald was active as a cultural advisor for the city and the Hachenburg community.

Since 1995 he has been a consultant at the Ministry of Culture in Mainz and managing director of the cultural summer event series in Rhineland-Palatinate.

Since 2004 Hardeck has also taught at the University of Music at the University of Mainz.

"Hardly anyone knows the art and cultural landscape in Rhineland-Palatinate as well as he does," declared the designated Family Minister Katharina Binz.

In the future state government, culture will be added to the family and integration ministry.
