One theory applies to a murder that took place in December 2019 in Malmö.

A man who was shot dead is the brother of one of the members of one of the criminal networks.

Two men, now 25 and 22 years old, were arrested on suspicion of murder and aiding and abetting murder but were never convicted of the act.

The 22-year-old has a close connection to Nydalavägen.

The 25-year-old also has a close relative at one of the addresses where it is small, more precisely on Docentgatan in Kroksbäck.

The second theory concerns revenge due to a quarrel that took place in Sadelmakarebyn in Limhamn a few days ago, where someone on the 25-year-old's side was confronted by a group in a car, writes Sydsvenskan.

Escalation of violence

If yesterday's explosions concern gang crime, there is a risk that this could be the beginning of a new wave of violence in Malmö.

This is the opinion of Manne Gerell, researcher in criminology at Malmö University:

- Absolutely, it is something I have shown in several studies.

Violence breeds violence and especially in this type of environment as criminal networks, your respect, your brand, depends on you being dangerous.

If someone does something to you, you need to act with violence and use violence yourself.
