Dresden (dpa / sn) - In view of the rapidly rising wood prices and an increasing burden on the domestic construction industry, there should be a round table in the coming week.

Saxony's Economics Minister Martin Dulig (SPD) and Agriculture Minister Wolfram Günther (Greens) want to invite chambers, associations and business representatives on Monday evening (May 10), as the ministries announced on Friday.

The situation on the timber market should be discussed together and solutions sought.

Chinese and American companies in particular are currently buying up stocks on the world market and making them more expensive.

Just recently, the Dresden Chamber of Crafts asked politicians to secure supply routes and to check the export quantities of Saxon wood abroad.

Due to the enormous increase in building material prices, numerous companies are threatened with economic difficulties.
