Bremen (dpa / lni) - The State Office for the Protection of the Constitution in Bremen has classified the group “lateral thinking421” as a so-called suspected case.

The interior department announced this on Friday.

Accordingly, the Office for the Protection of the Constitution has indications that the group has efforts against the free democratic basic order.

With the classification as a suspected case, the Bremen Office for the Protection of the Constitution can systematically observe the group under strict conditions and use intelligence resources, as the spokeswoman for the interior department said.

The authority can therefore secretly obtain information about the grouping and evaluate and save personal data.

The interior department pointed out that among the supporters of the so-called lateral thinking movement are right-wing extremists and people from the spectrum of the “Reich citizens”. "Essential for the" lateral thinking "movement" is a fundamental mistrust in the state's ability to act and the use of anti-Semitic conspiracy ideologies, "it said. Legitimate protests and rallies are therefore instrumentalized by extremist actors. "This can pose a threat to the free and democratic basic order," said Interior Senator Ulrich Mäurer (SPD).

In the Bremen offshoot, “lateral thinking421”, references to anti-Semitic conspiracy ideologies and overlaps with people from the right-wing extremist spectrum and the scene of the so-called Reich citizens are evident.

In the past few months there has been a clear tendency towards radicalization.
